The 'Intelligent low cost 3D drainage' system works....
.... with any inherent natural soil structure to ensure efficient water movement and comprehensive results, without the need for over-engineered slit and pipe systems.
It is based on an understanding of the causes of poor drainage and failing surfaces and works with the confines of the site to put these right.
At its heart is the provision of a series of vertical channels that interconnect and allow fast movement of water into drains.
The key primary water carriers are natural and mechanically generated cracks in the soil. By opening these up and stabilising them, we ensure the surface drains.
The cracks and channels take water in to closely spaced (2 m) interceptor drains which consist of small (30-50 mm) bore corrugated pipe which is backfilled with lytag or sand. These in turn connect with lateral drainage leading to a carrier drain.
Why Lytag?
Lytag
is used as our preferred choice for permeable fill;
its smooth spherical shape makes it less susceptible
to compaction and safer for players and machinery. |
